My family, Wife and 2 teen boys are all Huge Denver Bronco fans and we come to Denver at least twice per year from N Platte NE to go to Football games. We always stayed in Denver Hotels but this Summer we decided to check out some places in the Mountains that were close enough to Denver to still be a short enough drive to the football stadium in Denver. We heard about VRBO and Home-away and on the first try found this Cottage witch is way high up in the mountains but less than an hour Drive to Denver/. My wife really liked the full kitchen, the Deck and how clean it was when we arrived. Me and the boys went fishing at Evergreen Lake and then we took a drive from Evergreen to the Football stadium to see how far it would be. This is the place we coming to 2 time this fall once in Oct and again in December. We can't wait to get back and have another Mountain vacation and see the Broncos. Micheal, the owner has be very helpful getting us all the information we need for make sure our trips go well this fall. And another good thind is the beds. They are as comfortable as any expensive hotel and the place has its own laundry which is a big help for our family. You should try this place. Jim and Family from N Platte Ne.

Writer's Nest for a writer's retreat

I spent a week at the Writer's Nest this fall, fulfilling a long-term desire to spend a week alone in a lovely place working on my book. It met and exceeded my expectations. The quiet, the beauty of the decor and the view, the convenience and attention to detail were all capped off by Michael's warm and considerate style of hosting. Although I was alone, I felt safe and secure. And while I had all the privacy I wanted, I knew I could get help or answers to my questions at any time. It was a magical experience!

Perfect out-back "rustic on the outside, very clean and fully equipped on the inside" two bedroom lodge. Was in area for concert at Red Rocks, some sightseeing, horseback riding, mountain hiking and white water rafting and this hit the spot. Host was spot-on with all communications prior to rental as was a great concierge during stay. Worked with our unique travel agenda to make arrival seamless. Really enjoyed the town of Evergreen, which was a plus! Would not hesitate to stay there again if in the area.

The Secluded Chalet @ Fawn Trail Junction

Totally Cool Place

This is the second time this year we stayed at one of Michael places. The Chalet is really neat. It has this very private patio on the second story bedroom where we saw deer and foxes every morning. Michael stopped by to help us find places to go snowshoeing after the spring snow storm on our second day. It was like X-Mas in spring. Sooooo pristine. The Chalet is clean and totally has everything you need to just hang out in the wilderness. We are coming back in the fall to see the aspens turn. Very happy Campers. Us and our dogs.

I came out to take advantage of some snow shoe and ski time. I have normally stayed in a hotel however, this was more than I could imagine. I loved the cabin, and it was perfect for down time when needed. Michael, you are a great host, and a pleasure to meet. It will be very    difficult for me to find anywhere else as wonderful as your cabins.

At 58 years old I got married again. Wedding was on the stage of red rock amphitheater in Morrison Colorado. My thought was, what would make this time more special than it already is. We decided to get a mountain retreat for a couple of days. The sunrise lodge provided by Michael Carter was the perfect place. I can honestly say this was the icing on the cake. Thank you Michael and staff for a truly wonderful experience. We did have a few deer wander thru in the morning. The sunrise was beautiful. Thank you again.

Evergreen’s Log Cabin

Great time in Colorado

Had a great week at the log cabin with some old buddys. The log cabin is very nice and plenty of room for the four of us. Everything was clean and well maintained. It snowed while we were there and Michael did an amazing job of plowing the roads.. never had to worry about getting snowed in. We are very happy we decided to stay at the log cabin instead a hotel in the city... even the cheapest hotels were more expensive with four people... and not nearly as nice... honestly he could have charged double and it would still have been a great deal. I would recommend this cabin to anyone looking to enjoy the scenery and save some bucks on a hotel. Will definitely be returning with the wife and kid.

We enjoyed our stay at this cabin very much. The beds were comfortable, the furnace worked great, there was coffee, and a bag of flavored carmel corn for us when we arrived. Michael answered all my questions and he had trail maps printed for us when we arrived. The cabin was clean, all appliances worked well and the remoteness of the cabin what I had hoped to find. We visited Evergreen, Denver, Colorado Springs, and Idaho Springs during our short visit, so it was accessible to many attractions.

Christmas at Wilderness Cottage

Michael, Once again thanks for your great hospitality, we enjoyed our stay at the Wilderness Cottage. It was just as enjoyable as our stay in the Sunrise Lodge in Sept. Thanks for spending the evening with us enjoying the hot chocolate and Meghan's Christmas Cookies. It looked like Meghan, our two year old Grand Daughter, really enjoyed sharing her cookies with you. We had a great Christmas there in Evergreen and look forward to coming back. I think were falling in love with the town and it's people. It was nice to come home but we sure miss our Meghan. It's never fun in the airport saying goodbye to her and Tracy even said this time Meghan started crying as they left us. She's getting older now and she realized we were leaving her. She got an Ipad from Santa so now she can Skype with us, that's cool. Thanks again for everything and we really enjoyed decorating the Cottage with Christmas lights. It made it feel homey.
